Yancy Camp Workout 508

Yesterday I posted a story on Instagram while I was walking around the shoe section of our local Academy Sporting Goods Store. It was disheartening to see how some of the shoppers we’re disrespecting the store. If you saw my story, you could see there was a bunch of shoe boxes scattered all over the place, paper from the toes of the shoes, shoes thrown all around, and in summary, it was a complete mess. This wasn’t something I was blaming on a bunch of kids. There were parents all over this section of the store with their kids and together they were trashing the store. Academy is set up in a way where you pull a box off the shelf yourself and try on the shoes. The logical thing to do when you try on a pair that doesn’t fit is to box them back up as they were when you found them, and put them back in the spot you got them from. If our kids see us doing it the right way, that’s how they’ll usually do it when they grow up. If they see us being slobs and disrespectful to a store, our house, our cars, and anywhere else we go, then that’s what they’ll usually do when we’re not around. If they see us modeling how to respect ourselves, others around us, our personal property, and other’s property, then that’s usually what they’ll do when you aren’t around. I know this may sound a little simplistic, but it’s not. It’s arguably the biggest reason why people act the way they do. They are simply repeating what was modeled to them. Our challenge today is to take all the steps possible to be the best example we can be for the youth in our home, neighborhood, community, city, state, country, and our planet. Much love – Yancy

Workout 508
Run x 5min at low end aerobic effort
Heavy farmer’s walk x 30sec
Pull-up x 3 to shoulder taps x 24 to pull-up x 3
Heavy carry x 5min at above lactate threshold effort
Heavy farmer’s walk x 30sec
Pull-up x 3 to shoulder taps x 24 to pull-up x 3
Run x 6min at low end aerobic effort
Repeat farmer’s & pull-up/shoulder taps/pull-up
Heavy carry x 6min at above lactate threshold effort
Repeat farmer’s & pull-up/shoulder taps/pull-up
Run x 8min at low end aerobic effort
Repeat farmer’s & pull-up/shoulder taps/pull-up
Heavy carry x 6min at above lactate threshold effort
*If indoor, do all of the heavy carry time on the treadmill at incline.

*Shoulder taps – position yourself on the pull-up bar with your body perpendicular to the bar. Your eyes will be looking down the length of the bar. This sets you up on the bar in a similar position as when you’re attempting Twister going backwards.

Phase 2:
15-30% incline on the treadmill x 3min at aerobic effort
15-30% incline on the treadmill x 3min at above lactate threshold effort
This completes 1 round.
Continue repeating for a total of 6 rounds.
*If outdoors:
1st option – same 3min/3min with tire drag
2nd option – same 3min/3min on local trails
3rd option – same 3min/3min on road or track
