Yancy Camp Workout 456
Today I want to discuss something that has been very important in my life for many years. Dr. Gary Chapman launched his “5 Love Languages” many years ago and it has proven to be such a game changer in the world of helping build strong foundations for relationships, marriages, families, friends, and co-worker relationships. I’ve attached a link below and if you’re unaware of Dr. Gary Chapman and the 5 Love Languages, I strongly recommend you check it out. If you are aware, I recommend diving back in and re-connecting. What are the 5 Love Languages – 1)World of affirmation 2)Acts of service 3)Receiving gifts 4) Quality time 5)Acts of Service. For me, I know my wife loves gifts and acts of service. Personally, I could care less about receiving gifts. I’m a words of affirmation guy. If she tells me how proud of me she every now and then, it makes me feel like I can conquer anything and everything. She’s not a words of affirmation person. I can tell her how awesome she is and it falls pretty flat. If I simply cut a rose off our rose bush in the backyard and give it to her or hand write a card on special days, she’s on cloud nine (these two examples cost $0 by the way). For me, I love telling people how awesome they are because that’s my primary love language but I have to keep in mind that that’s not going to be the love language for everyone else. My wife loves doing things for me and giving me gifts because those are her primary love languages (everyone will have 1-2 primary as well as several that aren’t big for them) but she tries to keep in mind that I love words of affirmation. Our daughter loves physical touch (she’ll snuggle all day) and our son loves gifts. When I was in the corporate world, all the employees I had the pleasure to manage had a primary love language as well. Same with my friends and family. It’s important to try and figure out what their love language is. It will help you reach out to them in a way that really lifts them up. Husbands, wives, and anyone in a serious relationship, I encourage you to work through this awesome read/study with your significant other. You’ll enjoy the experience. Much love – Yancy

Workout 456:
Phase 1:
5min run at low end aerobic effort
Phase 2:
Run x 2min at aerobic effort
Weighted step-ups or ball slams (50lb men & 35lb women) x 10
Assisted pull-ups x 10
This completes 1 round.
Continue repeating for a total of 15 rounds.
*Due to the short run periods and high number of rounds, this workout will be much easier to complete outdoors.
*If you choose weighted step-ups, I’d like for you to go heavy 50+lbs for the guys and 35+lb for the ladies – see the video in library for proper form.
*For the assisted pull-ups, you’ll simply drape a rope or towel up over a tree limb or bar.
*For the assisted pull-ups, the higher your reach, the more upper body you’re using to complete the rep. The slight jump off the ground is how you’re assisting the pull-up. Don’t take it easy – reach high up on that rope!
Phase 3:
25min run at aerobic effort
4min run followed by 1min w/heavy carry (sandbag/bell/disc or bucket)
Continue repeating until you hit 25min.
