Yancy Camp Workout 423

For 423 I’m going a little outside the norm and cover a topic that I feel is very important to help us all maintain a healthy relationship with the businesses we work for and any other situations that allow us to earn money by providing our services to businesses who hire us.  When I give motivational talks to youth groups, I like to stress the importance of respecting those who provide us with opportunities.  Personally, I’ve never worked at a single job where I was forced to work there and I know most of you can say the same.  I know going in that there is no such thing as a perfect company/business or day to day work place situations.  When I accept this going in, I understand that I have zero excuses to waste any of my time complaining about things, gossiping with fellow co-workers, etc.  I am a firm believer in providing feedback and advice in a gracious manner when I feel it could help improve situations.  This creates situations where you are seen as a productive problem solver and will open doors for you in many cases.  Of course there are certain work related issues that fall outside the normal routine issues that create much of the work day complaining that we’ve all seen, heard, and possibly been a part of.   Of course harassment and abuse have zero place in the work place but for all other issues, we have four choices to make: 1) just put your head down and do your job, 2) quit, 3) complain, 4)proactively present ideas to help solve the problems you are dealing with and causing you stress, work to build healthy working relationships with all your fellow co-workers you’re able to associate with day in and day out, and even when you have constructive criticism to provide, there’s always something positive you can say first about someone or some situation before laying out the negative.  Of course I’m a firm believer that 4 is the way to go and will find you being the type of person others start to look up to and gravitate toward.  It’s an infectious personality around the work place and you can help get it started.
