Yancy Camp Workout 680

As you’re seeing this, I’m in Tahoe for Spartan World Champs (hope to see some of you rockstars).  If you’re racing, enjoy the mountain and experience my friends.  Joe Desena and I have worked on projects over the years and the video below is one specific project Joe asked me to work on and I couldn’t say no.  You may get to watch the Tahoe Face Off in person on Saturday or you may watch it for the first time after it’s all edited and reach for launch on YouTube and various other platforms. I’m using this as your Mental Conditioning video for 680 because I like the fitness movement message.  Too often powerful brands that technically have a level of competition between them have friction instead of collaberation.  Joe Desena and Greg Glassman have been communicating on how to continue serving the masses and that’s awesome.  Good on them!  I strongly stand by what I say in the video about Spartan and CrossFit.  Make sure you check it out!  Much Love – Yancy

The Tahoe Face Off


I’m throwing you a curveball for 680.

Phase 1:
Versa Loop warm-up x 1 round – Demo
ABCD running mechanics warm-up x 6min – Demo
C pace run x 4min (don’t leave C pace – should be 100% zone 2)
Start every ABCD rep with 20 one legged hops (10 each leg)

Phase 2:
Long duration low impact low end zone 3 effort
15% incline or cycle x 60min
*I’m fine if you brick the two together and go 30min each as long as you don’t allow a transition break in between.
*I want you to make sure you stay low end zone 3 the entire time. Don’t get anywhere near zone 4 (comfortable pace the entire duration).

*There’s zero strength training for 680. Don’t sneak anything in, just settle in and enjoy the 60min (of course scale down if needed). If inside, enjoy some Netflix/Hulu/Prime/HBO, or whatever else. Some of my favorites – Ozark (amazing), Stranger Things (Millie Bobby Brown and the entire cast are amazing), True Detective (Season 1 is arguably the greatest series of all time in my opinion – Matthew and Woody at their best).
