Yancy Camp Workout 224

Today is an aerobic base day mixed a lot of grip and pull strength endurance work. It’s very important to work grip and pull strength work while the heart rate is high. There are numerous examples of athletes who can crush grip and pull strength training while in the gym but still fail obstacles on race day. Not training grip & pull strength with an elevated HR is one of the reasons.

This workout can be performed inside or outside.

Low end aerobic training zone effort run x 5min
Farmer’s walk x 60sec
10/100 gold standard challenge for max reps
This completes 1 round. Continue repeating for a total of 10 rounds.
*April will finish with an additional 30min low end Lydiard effort run after finishing the 10 rounds. She’s prepping for World’s Toughest Mudder.

*April will be doing this one at 15% incline. You can do it flat or at 15% or greater incline
*Farmer’s walk can be weight plates, sandbells, buckets, or similar.
*If you’re unable to complete pull-ups for the 10/100 challenge, replace with knee lifts
*Aerobic training zone effort is appx 70-80% of max HR. For this session stay on the low end.
