Yancy Camp Workout 495
Certifications, diplomas, degrees, etc. only crack doors open for you. To blow the doors off the hinges you have to have grit. Rising to the level you think and dream about takes grit. Achieving your goals takes grit!!! I’m reading Angela Duckworth’s book Grit and it’s really firing me up. There’s a section of the book that eloquently spells out some of what I attempt to talk about when I provide motivational speeches/talks. Angela’s book quickly became one I can’t put down. There are so many cases in life where exceptional grit coupled with average talent rises above exceptional talent coupled with low level grit. I struggled big time in HS and college. Basic stuff that probably seemed pretty easy to grasp would throw me for a loop. I would study for long hours to do well on tests just so I could barely pass. Participating in sports, working at HS jobs, my time in the military, and all employment and business opportunities since the military have put me in situations where grit and work ethic provided me with a decent level of success. The thrilling joy of daily life continues my friends. You can’t outwork me. I know this for a fact. I’ll either beat you or at a minimum match you in the grit and work ethic categories. I believe this without a doubt when I go in to any situation. I’ll work along side you in a gracious manner and I’ll do everything I can to lift you up but you will not out grit me. It’s the one factor that no one can take away from either of us. We can always bring a strong grit game! I encourage you to read the book. Much love – Yancy
