Turf or grass field (appx 100yd or 100m in length):
High end aerobic training zone effort run down & back – follow each down & back with the following exercises:
Mountain climbers x 20
Push-ups x 10
Plank w/hip circles x 10
Side to side squat jump x 10
Burpees x 10
Elbow plank w/side to side hip roll x 20
Broad jumps x 5
This completes 1 full round.
Continue repeating for a total of 5 rounds (make sure you tie everything together without breaks.
Start and finish w/10min low end aerobic training zone effort run.
*You can use a trail or road hill route for this workout also. Appx 100yd/m up and 100yd/m down.
*Aerobic training zone effort is appx 70-80% of max HR. 75-80% effort for the down & back. During a short distance running effort like these down & back runs, it’s hard to go with HR% efforts. Choose a pace that would be about the same as if I was programming you to go out for a 30min high end aerobic training zone effort run where you settled in to a 75-80% HR zone.
