Big grip & pull strength work!
There were so many times this year where I watched exceptional or a lack there of grip and pull strength dramatically change the outcome of races. As I’ve said before, one of my main goals with your training program is to put you in situations to have great success out on course. Eliminating or minimizing burpees, keeping your band, eliminating or minimizing penalty laps, etc. I want every course designer to be left scratching their head as we blow through all their obstacles. This session is one you can bookmark and add to your training once a week or every other week to help take your grip and pull strength game to the next level.
Farmer’s walk x 30sec
Hand gripper reps x 20sec each hand
Bar hang w/hand release and hip slap x 4
Pull-up x 1
Bar hand w/hand release and hip slap x 4
Pull-up x 1
Hang until forced to drop
Rest x 1min
This completes 1 round. Continue repeating for a total of 6 rounds.
*You can modify the bar work by using the lat pulldown machine in your gym. Put an attachment on that allows you to release one hand without the attachment moving a lot. The cable row attachment are great or the tricep pushdown rope attachment also works well.
No matter where you grip & pull strength and grip and pull strength endurance is now, we’re going to take it to another level. Stick with me and we’ll make it happen!
Thank you all for trusting us with your training. I appreciate each and every one of you and I love nothing more than seeing and hearing about your improved performance out on course!
