Yancy Camp Workout 34

Find a hill or mountain in your area and pick out an appx 200m section. Gather up 6 items in the 45lb range. This workout will consist of 12 uphill reps. The 1st rep will be without weight at tempo pace, easy pace down, 2nd rep will be carrying weight, easy pace down. Continue until you’ve completed all 12 reps. Rocks and logs work great for this workout because you can leave them at the top. Start a nice pile and anytime you do this session again, continue stacking at the same location. I do this workout at a great location where I can drop of the six heavy items off with my truck and then pick them up at the top when the workout is completed.
*Tempo pace is appx 85-90% of max HR.
*Work on settling in to a pace that doesn’t require you to stop. A slow and steady pace will always get to the top faster than redlining to the point where you have to stop and take breaks. This type of training will translate well out on course!
