Comments:

– The year of committing to fitness: Turned 40 and decided I needed to change my lifestyle. Completed my first OCR in November the day before my 41st birthday . . . Project Mud in Charleston, SC.

– The year of committing to OCR: My first Spartan Race . . .I got totally crushed (90 burpees in ten minutes) but fell in love with the sport.

– The year of becoming competitive: Got serious about training. Qualified for OCR WC 2016 in November!

– The year of setbacks: Fractured my 5th metatarsal in Jan. Slowly worked my way back and was able to compete at OCR WC 15K. Got schooled on the grip obstacles and lost my band halfway through.

– The year of ups and downs: 35 miles at America’s Toughest Mudder Atlanta! Fractured leg at Savage Race in May and unable to run for two months. Joined Yancy Camp in Aug. Kept both bands at OCR WC (3K and 15K), including 30 minutes and 6 tries before finally getting the 3K “BattleFrog” rig! (A surreal, life changing moment for me).

– The year of ultra endurance: Signed up for the Boston America’s Toughest Mudder and the World’s Toughest Mudder. A huge step up for me, but I can’t wait to take this challenge on. No matter what happens, it’s going to be a crazy ride!
